They invested in a number of GARO EV Charge points to cater for visitors to site, as one part of their efforts to engage with and promote positive initiatives within the workplace and community. Solution
Dawn Farms enlisted the help of a trustworthy local electrical contractor to install a GARO Atle 24kW DC charger for visitors and sales representatives, as well as an additional six LS4 charging stations that were available for all staff. The installation process was efficient and of a high standard, from start to finish. They were delighted the day the EV Chargers went live. They were able to take advantage of the SEAI workplace incentive that allows businesses to deduct the full cost of their purchased equipment from their profits. And they were able to apply this incentive to the additional six LS4 charging stations that were put in for staff.
Installation
Despite the fact that Dawn Farms had to change their order on several occasions in the early stages, deciding on how many and which charging stations to be selected, our Sales team rose to the challenge and delivered as promised. Once the chargers were delivered, the only challenges during the installation were locating sufficient electrical supplies where they were needed, how to meter and monitor, while spreading out the load to protect the main supply.
Fortunately, all these areas were covered within the GARO EV Charging station once all the electrical supplies were obtained and routed. Installing a DLM (Dynamic Load Management) protected the main load by taking control of the load being used for charging and adjusting it to match current power use elsewhere without overloading the fuse. Additionally, Monta was installed on each charger so that metering and monitoring could take place, allowing the company to keep track of their entire EV charging in one platform. This gave the ability to set availability, pricing if needed and manage any users.
Outcome
With both the AC and DC chargers installed and now running for 6-7 months, Dawn Farms has had no issues and electric car charging has run smoothly for both visitors and staff.
