Electric car charging for apartments buildings
Give the option of charging at home wherever that may be..
The number of electric and hybrid vehicles in UK & Ireland is increasing steadily, and people’s expectations for being able to charge their cars where they live are increasing among both tenants and apartment owners. As a property owner, you can meet these expectations by installing one or more charging stations at your property or residents’ car park. This way, you make your residents’ everyday lives that bit easier while also being a part of the green transition.
EV Chargers with enough power for everyone
GARO chargers are designed for simple, safe and efficient vehicle charging adjacent to your property. You can connect up to 50 outlets to the same distribution boards, making them the ideal choice of charger for you.
- Each charger has an integrated network card for a wireless or wired connection to the property’s network and can be fitted with dynamic load balancing so as not to overload the main fuse.
- Authorised users unlock the charger with an RFID tag.
- Back office solutions offer you a central metering service with data for your charger that can be broken down by user, charging station and period.
- In compliance with electrical installation regulations, each charger is fitted with DC fault monitoring, which acts as a smarter version of a Type B residual current device.
- The integrated energy meter means that GARO chargers fulfil the requirements for grants in both the UK & Ireland.
- A GARO wallbox charger can be mounted on a wall or a post.
When you want full control of all charging
As the need for vehicle charging at apartment buildings and workplaces increases, you should have strict requirements for the products and services you choose to install. If you are seeking a smart, safe and sustainable solution for the future, you should be investing in chargers that measure the individual energy consumption of different users. Only then will you be able to charge fairly with itemised rent invoices or salary deductions.
With one or more GARO charge point connected to a back office software, you gain a central metering service with data that can be broken down by user, charging station and period.
Load balancing to keep fuses from tripping
When you connect the chargers to the property’s distribution board, the energy meters are read in real time. Pre-programmed limit values ensure that normal main fuses can handle the task of charging electric vehicles. This is because when combined with dynamic load balancing, the energy meter enables the charger to monitor the entire property’s electricity consumption and adapt the charging output accordingly, both smartly and effectively. This means that your main fuse need never be overloaded as the charging current supplied to the car can be varied between 6 A and 32 A. We keep everything simple.
Wallbox chargers or charging station –
which should we choose?
For residents’ car parks, wallbox chargers are the smarter option as residents usually park their cars for longer. For visitors’ car parks, on the other hand, a charging station can be more advantageous as it can offer faster charging than a wallbox charger.
OCPP for your charger
Do you already have a system comprised of GLB wallboxes from GARO at your indoor or outdoor car park? Allow your charge points and charge point software to talk to each other. OCPP allows you to mix and match EV charging points and software from different providers. Meaning you’re not locked into one vendor/software provider for the life of the product.
Using OCPP solutions will ensure that you future-proof your charging network and protect your investment for future changes in the EV charging road-map.
